I am a huuuge fan of Lisa Suzanne, I have read every book shes written. I stalk her all over Facebook (I’ll be sharing all of her links so you can too!) since thats really the only social media site I understand haha. Her newest book Stalemate came out on the 31st and it is amazing! You can find my review for that in my previous posts, but its a must read. I know this post is about Lisa Suzanne but I wanted to throw it out there that she is the first ever author to put a line from my review on a teaser!!
So while I’ve loved her since I read her first book and then spent the next few days binge reading everything she’d written she is another author that holds a special place in my blog because how awesome is that!
She has this way of making her characters come to life, and the way she writes makes everything unique. I absolutely love every book of hers (except one but hey thats still pretty amazing.) I have messaged her a few times and shes always been amazingly kind (I swear the indie author community is made up of the best people in the world.) she responded to me when I knew she didn’t have to and actually let me have a conversation with her which was amazing to me. So when I asked her if I could interview her I was going out on a limb with my fingers crossed because I’d only ever “talked” to her once but she said of course (another thing about indie authors all of them I have featured and interviewed have thanked me. No no no no thank you! seriously it does my fan girl in when you are all so amazing and agree to take the time out of your day to answer me and then your thanks on top of it. Oh man girl crushes everywhere!) I’m pretty sure she was my second ever ARC, but I know I messaged her for permission to post on my blog because I had no idea what I was really doing when I first started and she was just amazing and kind and ahhh okay I’m fan girling again so let me get to the best part, her interview! Lisa Suzanne was amazing and answered these questions for me:
What is your favorite book you’ve written?
I love each book for different reasons, and I usually love the one I’m currently working on the most. I am reading through the first draft of Outwait, which releases June 1, and for some reason I want to cry as I read my own words (not even emotional scenes)… so maybe Outwait. I love Conflicted, too, but I’m a sucker for love triangles and cheating stories. I also love my romcoms just because I laughed while I wrote them, so Clickbait and Not Just Another Romance Novel top the list! And of course Stalemate, my brand new book, holds a very special place in my heart!
What is your favorite book?
Such a hard question! I love Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin, Fifty Shades of Grey, Night Owl by M. Pierce, the list goes on…
What is your favorite quote?
“The scariest moment is always just before you start.” -Stephen King
“Write drunk, edit sober.” -Ernest Hemingway
Do you have a favorite author? If so who is it?
I have many favorites! Too many to name!
Which of your characters would you want for yourself?
ALL OF THEM! I’ll pick just a few… Jesse Drake (Separation Anxiety), Cole Benson (Conflicted), Carson King (Outwait), Axel Jones (Stalemate), Parker James (Vintage), and Travis Miller (He Feels Trilogy)
Which of your characters do you relate to the most?
I think there’s a little piece of me in all of my characters, but Courtney’s sassiness in Clickbait is probably the most current relatable character.
Are any of your books modeled from your own love story? If so which one and how?
In What He Really Feels, the main characters watch as a couple gets engaged—the couple is my husband and me. I’ve thought about writing my actual story into one of my books but I haven’t done that yet! I also have some things from my own experiences in Stalemate, but I can’t tell you what because of spoilers!
Do you follow a plan while writing or do your characters end up writing the story themselves once you get started?
They write themselves—always. I can plan as much as I want, but they tend to take over once I get started. For that reason, I don’t do a ton of planning, but I sort of plan in my head day by day where they’re going next based on what happens as I’m writing.
Can we expect more from you soon?
Yes! You can expect a lot more! My next book is set for release on June 1 and is already up for pre-order (http://amzn.to/2mCOpai). I started writing a new story that I think has the potential to turn into a series but I’m in the very early stages. I also have another series that I wrote several years ago and I’d like to rewrite it and put it out soon.
And just for fun what is your favorite color?
Okay see shes amazing xP so if you want to stalk her like I do here are her links!
